Course Information

Introduced in 1923 by designers William Langford and Theodore Moreau, this grand and classic layout has retained its untouched beauty as the city has grown-up around it.

The gently rolling terrain is characterized by large undulating greens and meticulously manicured fairways lined by a numerous variety of century old trees.  The two beautiful streams that meander gently throughout the course and culminate into a stunning lake that fronts the 17th and 18th greens serve to enhance your ultimate golf experience.  From your first tee shot at the lush, tree-line first hole all the way through your last tee shot over the water at the 18th, you’ll love every minute of play!

Course History

Clovernook Country Club was incorporated on April 13, 1923 by founding member Powell Crosley, Jr.  The 108-acre farm of Mary and George Schild was purchased for $28,000 and renowned golf course architects Langford and Moreau were hired to transform the farmland into a championship golf course.

Meticulously maintained and largely unchanged, it is fun to play!  The gently rolling terrain is characterized by large undulating greens, manicured fairways and numerous stone bridges crossing two creeks that wind through the course.  Flanked by 100+ year old Oaks, and a natural lake fronts both the 17th and 18th holes.  Throughout its 100+ year history, the course has virtually remained the same.

From 1965 to 1968, Clovernook hosted the LPGA Tour Buckeye Savings Invitational.  After the 1967 LPGA event, the LPGA players presented then golf course superintendent, Harry Mesloh with a special award for "having maintained the best groomed course they had played on Tour."

In 2019, Clovernook member David Wetterich founded the Clovernook Open and restored championship golf at Clovernook Country Club. The professional tournament provides an opportunity for up and coming golfers to compete on a historic stage.
