Tournament History
Since its conception in 2019, the Clovernook Open has reestablished championship golf at the historic Clovernook Country Club, bringing renewed energy and high-level competition to the Cincinnati golf scene. Created as a platform for rising talent, the tournament features a 54-hole professional event that consistently attracts top amateurs, mini-tour standouts, and aspiring professionals from across the U.S. and beyond.
More than just a golf tournament, the Clovernook Open is a celebration of sport, community, and giving back. The week includes a Sponsors Pro-Am, a First Tee Kids Clinic to inspire and engage local youth, and a Final Round Watch Party & Live Music that brings together members, guests, players, and fans in a festive atmosphere.
The tournament proudly supports two incredible causes: Play Yellow, benefiting children’s hospitals through the PGA Tour's partnership with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, and the First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, which helps shape the lives of young people through character-building and golf education.
The event’s history is already rich with highlights. In the 2019 inaugural Pro-Am, local professional Andrew Dorn made headlines by shooting a course-record 59, an achievement that set the tone for the high-level play to come. That same year, Wes Homan captured the first tournament title. He was followed by Donnie Trosper in 2020, Beau Breault in 2021, and Michael Davan in 2022. In 2023, Daniel Wetterich thrilled the hometown crowd with a popular victory, and in 2024, Willie Mack III prevailed in a dramatic six-man playoff—the most competitive finish in the tournament’s history to date.
As the Clovernook Open continues to grow, it remains firmly grounded in tradition, community, and opportunity—providing a meaningful platform for emerging professionals and contributing to causes that matter.
