Champion Daniel Wetterich (-14)

- May 15th 2023

A wire to wire victory!  Congratulations Daniel Wetterich on winning the 5th playing of The Clovernook Open.

Daniel secured the lead after the First Round with a 6 under par 65. Connor Schmidt and Nick Carlson were one shot behind, both recording 5 under par 66's.  The Second Round saw Austin Squires catapult to the second spot on the leaderboard posting Thursday's low round of 64.  The tournament field was then cut to the top 32 and ties at (-1) to set up the Final Round.

Friday May 12th brought overcast skies and light rain as the final pairing of Austin Squires (-8) and Daniel Wetterich (-9) teed off just before 2:00pm.  There were hot starts by Connor Schmidt (3 under thru 3), Cole Bradley (3 under thru 5) and Kyle Mueller (4 under thru 5 holes) who all momentarily held the lead at (-10). The pace cooled through the tough stretch of holes #6-14. With 3 holes remaining Cole Bradley (-12) held a one shot lead over Daniel Wetterich (-11). In championship fashion Daniel went on to birdie Hole 16, Hole 17, and Hole 18 in front of a large gallery to secure a three shot victory at (-14).

The ensuing awards ceremony was a true culmination of success. Clovernook Open founder David Wetterich presented a $10,000 charitable donation to First Tee of Greater Cincinnati and NKY. Presenting sponsors Steve Richmond and Julie Inman awarded the trophy to tournament champion Daniel Wetterich. Followed by heartfelt words from Daniel thanking his parents, the Clovernook membership, and his late teacher and mentor Bob Harrison.
